  Activities to checked during inspection of Forging, Valves & Pressure Vessels.

                          Inspection consisting large number of activities some activities require to witnessed by Third Party Inspection Agencies and some activities internally checked by manufacturer. In the field of inspection large variety of components with different material and with different dimensions of component checked so it is too matters that what kind of inspection done as per code and client requirements so inspector should know what to check, how much check, acceptance criteria, record and documentation.

              Any component is inspected with help of acceptance standard of specific standards code and specification of clients such as ASTM,API,DIN,IS etc.

    Generally during Inspection of Forging components involve following activities as,

  • Verify the forging processes.
  • Identification of Raw Material.
  • Verify forging shop records
  • Verify Heat Treatments cycles and records with respective applicable code.
  • Identification of Test Specimen whatever is required.
  • Dimensional Inspection
  • Visual inspection of components
  • Witness of NDT as Ultrasonic Test (UT), Dye Penetration Test (DPT) Etc.
  • Witness of repairs and after repairs Witness of NDT if required.

During Inspection of valves involve following activities as,

  • Verification of Test Certificates Raw Material.
  • Verification of construction feature match with respective Code standards of       specification or not.
  • Verification of WTP/WPS records.
  • Witness of hydrotesting if required.
  • Any additional or special tightness test.
  • Dimensional Inspection.
  • Any additional testing whatever as per requirements of code of specification.

during Inspection of Pressure Vessels involve following activities as,

  • Review if Material test Reports.
  • Material Identification and stamp transfer of Raw Material as per code and specification requirements.
  • Procedure for the activities during process NDT procedure like UT/MT/RT/DPT or Heat Treatment procedure etc.
  • Welder Qualification and checking of WPS and PQR.
  • In-process inspection, fit-up inspection, inspection of weld and application of NDT examination.
  • Review or witness of Heat Treatment Charts.
  • Visual Dimension and inspection.
  • Hydrostatic testing and stamping.
  • Painting and surface preparation of the component.
  • Dispatch of component.
