TYPES OF DISHED ENDS - Hemispherical Dished Ends.

                Hemispherical Dished Ends.

As discuss earlier the different types of Dished ends generally used for pressure vessels storage tanks as per service and code, standards.

The hemispherical dished is the dished end used for storage tank and pressure vessels to storage gasses, liquid etc. The hemispherical type of dished end is most popular size for thickness and sizes.

Generally upto 8000 mm of diameter 50 mm of thickness of dimension prefer for hemispherical dished ends. The edge preparation and the acceptable standards as per client requirements and all other addition requirements as per client codes and respective standards. Due to some difficulties occurs during forming of such dished ends, often used as for vessels having pressure is high and large diameter of pressure vessels. Forming (pressing) is done by die or punch on pressing machine and made crown and petal segments individually and welded after forming as per template.
Dimensions checked after forming and welding of petals and crown segments. The Straight face (S.F.) not mandatory in this type of dished end, three major terms consist in this type of dished end as Diameter, Height and Radius.
The radius calculated by divide the Diameter by 2, and in such type of dished ends radius is the height of the dished end, for example,
If a dished end having Diameter 2000 mm then as per formula,

The blank Diameter of the Hemispherical Dished End is calculated by the formula,

In other words the hemispherical Dished End is used where the pressure is high and the thickness of shell also high.
